Report: Tottenham one of four clubs to have contacted Maurizio Sarri as Conte’s future looks far from certain
Il Messaggero’s report, as relayed by LazioNews24 and SportWitness), states that four clubs, including West Ham United, have expressed interest in Maurizio Sarri, not just Tottenham.
This news comes amid uncertainty surrounding Antonio Conte’s future at Tottenham as his contract expires at the end of the current season.
As per Gianluca Di Marzio on Sky Sport Italia (reported by Tutto Juve) a few days ago, it is expected that the Tottenham head coach will leave at the end of this season.
Additionally, according to CalcioMercatoWeb’s report last Saturday, if Antonio Conte departs from Tottenham, the club has identified Maurizio Sarri as his potential replacement.
Il Messaggero has also confirmed Tottenham’s interest in Maurizio Sarri, who is currently contracted to Lazio until 2025.
However, his future at the club is uncertain as he is reportedly unhappy with the club’s hierarchy and their emphasis on prioritizing Champions League qualification over the Coppa Italia.
It is not just Tottenham who has shown interest in the 64-year-old, as West Ham, Everton, and AC Milan are also said to have made contact with him.
If Antonio Conte leaves Tottenham at the end of the season, the next head coach appointment may depend on whether Fabio Paratici, the club’s Managing Director of Football, remains at Tottenham.
If Paratici is still banned from the club, it is likely that Daniel Levy, the chairman of Tottenham, will consider bringing back Mauricio Pochettino as head coach.
