Report: Manchester City present swap deal to sign £95m star, including two of Guardiola’s players

Manchester City are willing to include both Ilkay Gundogan and Oleksandr Zinchenko in a deal to capture Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt, according to Italian outlet CMW

De Ligt is estimated to be worth £95 million.

De Ligt, who is still only 22 years old, has spent the last three years at Juventus after moving from Ajax.

He has already made 117 appearances for Juventus, and the club will be anxious to keep him, especially now that Giorgio Chiellini has left.

However, every player has a price, and Juventus may be willing to sell him if an overwhelming offer is made.

De Ligt is estimated to be worth £95 million.

Manchester City is prepared to include two players and a fee between £35million and £43million.

That is, in addition to Gundogan, who is in the final year of his deal with City. Ukraine international Zinchenko is also included in the agreement. The pair is worth between £43 million and £52 million.

What a stunning transaction, with such a large cash offer and two extremely valuable players included. But can Manchester City really profit from losing such an important midfield cog and, perhaps, their finest left-back?

In the end, no. Especially given that Manchester City do not require a center-back. They still have Ruben Dias, Aymeric Laporte, John Stones, and Nathan Ake, though the latter is thought to be on his way out.

If his Netherlands teammate Ake leaves, they could make a play for de Ligt.

But, regardless of how excellent de Ligt is, losing Gundogan and, more crucially, Zinchenko in a move would be detrimental to Manchester City.
