Report: Arsenal now lining up move for ‘unstoppable’ £50m star with 25 goals contributions in 32 games this season
According to Sport1, Arsenal, Newcastle, and Manchester United are all vying for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Moussa Diaby this summer.
The Gunners are looking to finish in one of the Champions League places at the end of the season, and despite their loss to Liverpool earlier this week, they are still considered the favorites.
Newcastle, on the other hand, have made huge strides under Eddie Howe, and despite losing to Everton last night, they should be able to avoid relegation this season.
Both teams will want to bolster their squads with huge acquisitions in the summer, and talented Frenchman Diaby is on both of their wish lists.
Diaby, who is only 22 years old, is one of the Bundesliga’s most promising young players right now.
This season, the kid has scored 16 goals and given nine assists in 32 appearances in the German Bundesliga and Europe League.
That is a remarkable return for someone so young, and it will only be a matter of time until he moves on to a bigger club.
According to the report, Arsenal, Newcastle, and Manchester United are all interested in Diaby.
It has also been reported that the Frenchman aspires to play in the Premier League and that a move to England this summer is extremely likely.
‘Unstoppable’
Diaby was a standout for Leverkusen in their 4-0 Bundesliga victory over Borussia Monchengladbach in August 2021.
The Frenchman impressed everyone by scoring a goal and assisting on another.
His dribbling was hailed as ‘incredible,’ his pace as ‘irresistible,’ and his speed of thought for a player his age as ‘astonishing.’
For his performance on the day, BILD labeled him as ‘unstoppable,’ and he has only become better since.
Diaby would be a fantastic addition for both Arsenal and Newcastle, but it will be intriguing to see if either team is willing to pay the cash this summer.
