‘Really good’: Graham Potter claims £10m Chelsea player has impressed him in training, he’s not started in 2023
According to Graham Potter, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is still impressing him during Chelsea’s training sessions.
Although the 33-year-old striker is currently facing difficulties at Stamford Bridge, as he has not started a single game this year 2023 and has dropped down in the lineup.
However, despite Potter’s hesitancy to frequently use him, Aubameyang is maintaining a professional demeanor and drawing attention at Chelsea’s training ground.
When discussing Aubameyang, Potter said: “He’s been training with us this week and training really well. A really good professional, supporting his teammates. He’s doing everything I expect, training well and acting well.”
It seems that Aubameyang’s move to Chelsea last summer for £10 million is not panning out as expected.
The 33-year-old striker has yet to start a single game in 2023 and has fallen down the pecking order.
Rumors are circulating that he may be on his way out of Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea and Los Angeles FC reportedly waiting for his response on a potential loan move to the MLS club. Given Chelsea’s struggles in attack, it’s surprising that Aubameyang is not being utilized more.
However, Aubameyang’s situation at Chelsea is not entirely in his hands. He’s a professional player, and ultimately it’s the manager’s decision on who to play and who not to play.
That being said, it’s understandable if Aubameyang feels frustrated with his lack of playing time.
A loan move to MLS could be a good opportunity for him to get back to his best and regain his confidence. But it ultimately depends on the player and what he feels is the best move for his career.
