Real Madrid responds after Cristiano Ronaldo ‘offers himself to former club for six months to deputize for injured Karim Benzema’
Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly wants to end his nightmare at Manchester United by making a stunning return to Real Madrid.
In a candid interview with Piers Morgan last week, the 37-year-old accused the Red Devils of betraying him.
In the aftermath of the interview, Ronaldo has reportedly offered himself to the Spanish giants on a six-month contract.
According to the Spanish outlet, Ronaldo wants to return to the Bernabeu in January to replace the injured Karim Benzema.
Man United wants to end Ronaldo’s contract seven months early without paying him any of the £16 million he’s due to earn by June 2023.
Real Madrid responds
According to Spanish media, Real Madrid has already ruled out signing Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United during the January transfer window.
Ronaldo appears to have made his final appearance for United following his lengthy interview with Piers Morgan last week in which he slammed manager Erik ten Hag and attacked the club’s owners.
When approached by Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes during the summer transfer window, Madrid turned down the opportunity to re-sign him.
And, according to Marca, Madrid has taken the same stance ahead of the January transfer window, stating that they have no intention of signing Ronaldo for a second time.
Madrid have been hampered this season by Karim Benzema’s injury, but the Spanish champions are adamant that they will keep the striker for another two years.
