Real Madrid ready to offer €40 million plus Isco to highjack Chelsea target

Real Madrid are reportedly willing to offer a part-exchange deal, including Isco, in order to sign Wesley Fofana, who is also a Chelsea target.

According to Catalan outlet El Nacional, Real Madrid believes they have an ace up their sleeve to secure Wesley Fofana’s services.

To sign the Leicester City defender, who Chelsea is also interested in, the Spanish giants are willing to offer a part-exchange deal that includes Isco and €40 million.

Wesley Fofana joined Leicester City from Saint-Etienne in October 2020 and quickly established himself as a first-team regular at the King Power Stadium. However, following a strong start to life with the Foxes, the youngster has suffered a major setback ahead of the current season, as a leg fracture has sidelined him.

To date, the 20-year-old has made 38 appearances for Leicester City, and despite his lengthy injury layoff, he is still regarded as a top defender. As a result, it’s not surprising that Real Madrid and Chelsea are on the hunt for Fofana.

Real Madrid’s interest makes sense, given that they did not fill the void left by the departures of Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane.

Since David Alaba was the only defensive player added to Real Madrid’s squad over the summer, the addition of a centre-back is critical.

To that end, several centre-backs have emerged as potential targets for Los Blancos, including Sevilla’s Jules Kounde, Juventus’ Matthijs de Ligt, and Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger.

Real Madrid is also interested in Fofana. Chelsea, meanwhile, are said to be interested in the 20-year-old and have made contact with him.

Chelsea, like Real Madrid, may need to sign a centre-back next summer, as Rudiger is in the final year of his contract and Andreas Christensen is no closer to signing a new one.

Chelsea expects Christensen to sign a new contract, but Rudiger’s uncertain future may force the west Londoners to look for a new central defender.

According to the report, Chelsea has dropped their interest in Fofana, leaving Real Madrid in a strong position to sign him.

And the Spanish giants have arranged a part-exchange deal that will include Isco and €40 million in cash to secure the 20-year-services. old’s

The out-of-favour Real Madrid midfielder has recently been linked with Leicester City, so the above offer could do the trick. So it remains to be seen whether the Foxes will be enticed by Real Madrid’s offer of a part-exchange deal for Isco, or if they will be told to make a higher bid for Fofana.
