Real Madrid leaves Arsenal with a clear option after Martin Odegaard’s stance.

Arsenal may have been handed their biggest blow yet when it comes to their attempt to land Martin Odegaard.

Odegaard is one of the Gunners’ top transfer targets this summer after his remarkable spell on loan from Real Madrid in the second half of the season.

The Norwegian made 20 appearances for Mikel Arteta men and did plenty to satisfy his temporary employers to make a permanent move for him ahead of next summer.

But it looks as though the Gunners have just one option left ahead of the transfer window. They will be better served looking elsewhere as far as their search for a creative midfielder is involved after a Real Madrid decision of sorts.

According to Diario AS, Real Madrid considers Odegaard as ‘untransferable’ ahead of this summer and that Zinedine Zidane’s exit and the arrival of Carlo Ancelotti has made ‘everything easier’ as far as the midfielder is involved.

That could be a club blow for Arsenal amid fresh shots that they would concentrate much of their efforts on landing Odegaard this summer.

Though, the Gunners have since put a proposal for Norwich City starlet Emiliano Buendia, so they do have their eyes on other possible targets,

And that seems to be a wise resolution with Odegaard’s departure all but ruled out for now, and the Norwegian has already given his decision on the return of Ancelotti, the man he could well be working under next season.

“He is a coach I know and with whom I had a good relationship when he was last there. In that sense, it is positive,” Odegaard told TV2.

“But beyond that, one day has passed, so I do not know too much about what he thinks about things.”

Ancelotti once reported Real Madrid’s signing of Odegaard as a decision made for ‘PR’ but it seems the Italian never held that against the midfielder, who claims the relationship between the two was a healthy one ahead of Ancelotti’s departure in 2015.
