Ranking of the best Man City players this season based on ratings – with two stars neck-and-neck for top spot
Manchester City have nine games left this season to defend their Premier League crown, with Pep Guardiola’s team presently atop the table.
This season, the Sky Blues have also reached the FA Cup semi-finals and the Champions League last-eight.
Liverpool are just one point behind City in the league rankings, but Guardiola’s team still has to play the Merseyside club at the Etihad Stadium on 10 April – a match that could decide the title.
This isn’t the last time they meet in a competitive match; Liverpool is City’s last-four opponent in the FA Cup six days later, and they might meet again if both qualify for the Champions League final.
Last summer, Guardiola spent over £112 million on Kayky and Jack Grealish with the goal of retaining the Premier League title and earning further trophy at the Etihad.
With that said, let’s take a look at how City’s players have done in the Premier League this season.
All stats are from whoscored.com as of 29 March.
4. Rodri – 7.34

The Spaniard has won the most aerial battles of any Sky Blues midfielder, 2.3, and is an important part of Guardiola’s team.
3. Bernardo Silva – 7.36

A key player for the team, having appeared in all but one league game this season.
With seven goals, Silva is the team’s third-highest scorer.
2. Kevin De Bruyne – 7.46

The Belgian maestro is another of Guardiola’s key players, having appeared in 22 league games and scoring nine goals.
So far, he has also helped his colleagues three times.
1. Joao Cancelo – 7.49

He is an important player because of his defensive consistency and versatility, as he can play at either left or right back.
Cancelo has been City’s best performer in the Premier League this season.
