Raheem Sterling Tottenham’s transfer claim revealed as the forward continues EUROS’ impressive form.
Raheem Sterling would be smart to attempt a move to Tottenham Hotspur in an exchange for Harry Kane this summer, according to ESPN reporter Gabrielle Marcotti.
Kane’s future at Tottenham Hotspur remains ‘up in the air’ going towards the 2021/22 league campaign, with it earlier being reported by Sky Sports that he wants to depart the club this summer.
Manchester City are rumored to be involved in a deal to sign the forward, who was on the scoresheet against Germany in England’s last-16 encounter against arch-rivals Germany at Wembley on Tuesday evening.
Sky Sports have reported that Pep Guardiola’s side have made a bid of £100million for Kane’s services, with Manchester City also being reportedly ready to include players in any possible agreement, with Kane’s wages currently being at £200,000 per week according to Salary Sport.
Speaking in a recent interview with ESPN FC, ESPN columnist Gabrielle Marcotti felt that Raheem Sterling would be smart to reconsider a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer as part of a player exchange deal that would see Kane head to Pep Guardiola’s side.
“The reality is he [Sterling] has two years left and he needs to think about his future. Negotiations aren’t going great.
“If I’m Man City, I’d say, ‘you want £150m [for Kane], we can stick Sterling in there who is valued £60m-70m, you get cash and a guy who is a very good player’.

SPORTS DIAS VERDICT.
It’s not a bad idea from Marcotti. Sterling wasn’t a constant in the Manchester City starting XI during the second half of the 2020/21 campaign, with Phil Foden often starting ahead of him in Guardiola’s recent systems.
With two years remaining on his deal with the Premier League champions, Sterling will be facing a choice on his future after starting only 28 out of 38 top-flight matches, and it would come as a shock to see Manchester City risk letting him head into the final year of his deal with no new agreement in place.
It’s going to be an exciting few months ahead for Spurs as they look to finalize Kane’s future when he returns to them from international duty, but perhaps obtaining a younger player in Sterling could soften the blow if the Lilywhites’ talisman leaves.
