Premier League’s top-earning footballers as shock player earn a mammoth £865,000 per week
The top earners in the Premier League have been disclosed by L’Equipe, a French newspaper, and the highest-paid players are from Manchester City.
However, according to a previous report from Sportsmail in October, the actual highest earner is Erling Haaland, who receives over £865,000 per week, including bonuses.
Most of Haaland’s bonus terms are practically certain, resulting in him earning more than any other player in the Premier League.
According to L’Equipe, De Bruyne earns a monthly salary of £1.7 million which translates to a weekly pay of £425,000, while Haaland’s monthly pay is £1.609 million. David de Gea from Man United earns £402,250 per week, which puts him at the same level as the impressive City striker who has scored 39 goals this season.
L’Equipe states that Haaland’s reported salary is the same as the City striker’s, but it is evident that Haaland’s earnings increase significantly when factoring in bonuses. Mo Salah, who is Liverpool’s top-paid player, is in fourth place and reportedly earns £1.495 million per month (£373,750 per week).
Despite a disappointing season for Jurgen Klopp’s team, Mohamed Salah has still been performing well and has scored 20 goals while playing on the wing. In an unexpected revelation, Jadon Sancho is reported to be earning the same amount as Salah and is tied for fourth place on L’Equipe’s list.
While Haaland, De Bruyne, De Gea, and Salah are all crucial players for their respective teams, Sancho has struggled since joining Manchester United. He underwent individual training until January to improve both his physical and mental game before being reintroduced to the team by Erik ten Hag.
PLAYER | WEEKLY WAGE |
---|---|
Kevin De Bruyne | £425,000 |
Erling Haaland | £402,250 |
David de Gea | £402,250 |
Mo Salah | £373,750 |
Jadon Sancho | £373,750 |
Sancho has scored four goals and provided one assist in 14 Premier League games this season, as well as one goal in eight Europa League games.
Recently, he has been performing well in the No. 10 position, and his form has been praised by Ten Hag.
However, Sancho’s position in the team is not secure, as Rashford and Antony are typically preferred on the wings when everyone is available. It is uncertain whether Sancho will have a long-term future at Old Trafford, but the stability provided by the new manager’s tenure could help him settle.
The top five highest paid players do not include any representatives from Arsenal, who are currently leading the Premier League, but there may be pressure for improved contracts if they are successful.
Haaland earns a mammoth £865,000-A-WEEK
According to Sportsmail, Erling Haaland is currently earning nearly £900,000 per week at Manchester City, making him the highest-paid player in the Premier League.
Despite receiving a basic salary that is similar to other high earners at the Etihad Stadium, the 22-year-old’s weekly wage exceeds £850,000 due to a set of significant and almost certain bonuses.
With his impressive performances since arriving from Borussia Dortmund for £51m, Haaland has certainly made an impact in English football.
