Arsenal and Brentford ended in a 1-1 tie, but the equalizing goal by Ivan Toney should have been disallowed due to an offside in the buildup.

In another match, Brighton’s first-half goal by Pervis Estupinan was wrongly declared offside in their 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace.

The Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) released a statement today acknowledging the errors and confirming that Howard Webb, the Chief Refereeing Officer, has contacted both Arsenal and Brighton & Hove Albion to apologize for the significant errors in the VAR (Video Assistant Referee) process during their respective Premier League games on Saturday.

“Both incidents, which were due to human error and related to the analysis of offside situations, are being thoroughly reviewed by PGMOL.”
