Potter advised to call a Chelsea legend to fix Blues’ crisis
Paul Merson suggests that Graham Potter should add John Terry to his coaching staff for the Chelsea first team as they urgently need to improve their performance.
Graham Potter is facing intense scrutiny due to a string of poor results, and there are rumors that he could be fired if he loses the next two games.
According to Paul Merson, bringing John Terry onto the coaching staff could benefit Potter greatly. Merson believes that Terry’s experience and passion, which seem to be missing from the team at present, would be valuable assets.
Terry is currently working as a coaching consultant for the club’s academy, so it would be simple to have him assist with the first team, a decision which Merson thinks would be advantageous.
“For me, I’d get John Terry involved now,” Merson told Sky Sports.
“John Terry’s at the club, get him on the bench, get in there, get someone who’s been there before, played the game and done it.
‘And start volleying people around! He’s too nice. It’s too nice.”
Following three consecutive losses and failing to score a goal in any of those matches, Paul Merson gave a harsh critique of Chelsea’s current condition, stating that it’s the worst he has witnessed in 25 years, and he is concerned.
