Player sends message to fans after officially finalizing his move to Chelsea

Chelsea finalized the signing of Southampton’s talented young goalkeeper Eddie Beach.

The 18-year-old was a member of Saints’ Premier League South U18 title-winning team and is regarded highly by the club’s coaches.

He had wanted to play for the first team in the coming seasons.

But, with Southampton apparently close to signing Republic of Ireland international Gavin Bazunu from Manchester City, and experienced goalkeeper Willy Caballero allegedly agreeing a new one-year contract with the club, his chances of breaking into the first-team squad have dwindled.

This prompted the club to swoop in and offer him a fantastic move to Stamford Bridge, where he will work with some of the greatest coaches in the Premier League and maybe work his way up to playing with some of the best players in the world.

“We are very pleased to bring Eddie to the club,” said Jim Fraser, Chelsea’s assistant head of youth development and head of young recruitment, according to the club’s website.

“He is a talented goalkeeper with good potential and will join our development squad for the coming season.”

The former New Forest Football Academy player wrote in an Instagram post that finished with red and white emojis: “Just want to say a massive thanks to @southamptonfc for the past 3 and a half years.

All of the staff, teammates, and coaches who helped to make it such a great experience.

“It’s been an amazing journey and I have learnt so much from everyone within the club. Now its time to look at the next chapter of my career. Good luck boys!”
