Player has ‘agreed’ five-year deal with the Blues– Club ‘just wait’ for Chelsea to fulfill fee demands
Barcelona has joined Chelsea in their pursuit of Sevilla midfielder Jules Koundé this summer.
According to a ‘secret’ source from Sport, the Catalan club believes the transfer is doable for them at roughly €60 million.
Xavi Hernández’s side will have to pay this sum because their La Liga rivals are unwilling to accept any players in exchange for the defender.
The Blues, on the other hand, and what they are willing to provide the 23-year-old.
The west London club is alleged to have made a ‘astronomical salary request’ to the France international.
Barca cannot achieve the same level since it would make him one of their highest-paid players, potentially causing discontent among the squad.

The major task for the Blaugrana and Xavi is to persuade the former Bordeaux man to join them at the Camp Nou by accepting half of what Thomas Tuchel’s side is giving. For the time being, the sport state is difficult.
ABC Sevilla has also mentioned Barcelona’s participation into the race to capture Koundé.
They initially repeat statements made by Sevilla president José Castro that the centre-back will only go if a bid of roughly €60-65 million is made this summer.
The Spanish giants believe signing Julen Lopetegui man is a possibility if they can ‘avert their financial disaster.’ This, however, will not be their only issue in signing the Sevilla star, since Chelsea is also interested in his talents.
These parameters were actually outlined in 2021, when the English team attempted to recruit him in August.
According to two reports, Barcelona likes the Frenchman but cannot compete with Chelsea’s salary.
Sevilla will now ‘simply wait’ for Chelsea or Koundé’s other suitors to match their criteria in order to complete his deal this summer.
