‘Played too well’ Paul Merson has just made a prediction for Spurs v Everton
Tottenham Hotspur will edge Everton in North London on Saturday, according to Paul Merson.
Tomorrow evening, Antonio Conte’s team will play the Toffees in London.
Tottenham, who are now third in the Premier League rankings, will undoubtedly be favorites, but don’t dismiss Everton just yet.
Frank Lampard’s men have only lost one Premier League match in the last two months, and it was a close defeat at the hands of Manchester United.
And, while Merson believes the Spurs will win, he only believes by one goal.
He told Sportskeeda: “Tottenham are starting to click under Antonio Conte.
“They did well to stay where they are without Son Heung-Min. Now that he’s started to play regularly, I think they’ll do well. They haven’t played too well so far and they’re third in the Premier League – there’s nothing too wrong with that.
“Tottenham have stepped up this month and should be able to win this Premier League game. Prediction: Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 Everton.”
Tottenham have suffered a string of poor results recently, not least a 3-1 loss at Arsenal earlier this month.
However, they have had a fantastic Premier League season thus far, and keep in mind that they are still just third in the standings.
Beating Everton on Saturday will get them within a point of Mikel Arteta’s team at the top, and considering the accolades Arsenal is receiving, it says a lot if Spurs are only one point behind.
