“Play with all of them” Vinicius Jr makes a request to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp concerning the Champions League final clash
Vinicius Jr has instructed Jurgen Klopp that he must field his strongest team against Real Madrid this Saturday.
The Reds have the opportunity to extract revenge on the Spanish giants in Paris after losing to them in the 2018 Champions League final.
Liverpool has since won the trophy, but Real Madrid has remained in the wilderness.
Los Blancos have surged back into the fold under Carlo Ancelotti, knocking off holders Chelsea and Manchester City along the way.
To win the title, they must defeat the Premier League’s other top-three team, while the Reds may be missing several crucial players.
Thiago Alcantara is in serious doubt after being substituted at halftime against Wolves on the final day of the Premier League season. Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Fabinho have all lately suffered from injuries.
Without all four, Liverpool would be significantly handicapped, giving Real Madrid a significant advantage.
That would give people at the Bernabeu hope, but not Vinicius Jr, who would prefer to face a full-strength opponent rather than a depleted one.
When asked about Liverpool’s injury situation, the Brazilian said: “Hopefully they play with all of them. We want an amazing match between two teams with all their players. With 100 per cent concentration. And both fighting for the most important thing, which is the Champions League.
“We watch a lot of Liverpool games. They are a great team with a lot of strength and a lot of intensity. If we match that against them… we will win for sure.”
With their 6-5 semi-final triumph over City, Real Madrid may have produced one of the most legendary performances in recent memory.
Rodrygo came off the bench to score twice in injury time to force extra time.
Karim Benzema struck a penalty five minutes into the extra 30 minutes to send Pep Guardiola’s men home, and Vinicius Jr has expressed his desire for another spectacle. When asked what he desired, he replied:
“A great game like all the games in the knockout stages of the Champions League.
“They were exciting for us, but they were beautiful games. Now we have the match every player wants to play. We have the privilege that almost all the players here have played in many finals and that’s reassuring for us. Hopefully it will be a great game.”
