This victory was significant for United, as it was their first silverware since 2017 when they won the League Cup and the Europa League under the guidance of Jose Mourinho.

The team’s impressive performance in the final highlighted the excellent job done by Erik Ten Hag, who joined the club from Ajax last year. With this win, United could be on the path to further success, as it marks the start of what may be several trophy celebrations in the future, thanks to Ten Hag’s transformative impact in his first season.

Piers Morgan wasn’t pleased with a dance video featuring Manchester United players and Ten Hag that followed their victory. “Can’t believe I’m watching a @ManUtd manager & players dancing with joy after winning the Carabao Cup … so embarrassing,” wrote Piers Morgan.

The opinion did not impress star India cricketer Yuvraj Singh. “Why is it embarrassing piers ? R we not supposed to enjoy the moments when we win ?” Yuvraj replied on that tweet.

To which, Morgan wrote: “Hi Legend, given what a mediocre competition the Carabao Cup is, a series of dignified handshakes from Ten Hag would have been more appropriate than riotous dancing… can you imagine Sir Alex ever doing a crazed conga on live TV for winning a 3rd tier trophy?”

United is still in contention for three other competitions, holding the third spot in the Premier League standings

They also have an FA Cup fifth-round match against West Ham scheduled for Wednesday, followed by a Europa League last 16 tie against Real Betis in March.

Since Alex Ferguson retired, United has spent a decade struggling, with their last Premier League title win in 2013. Finally, they are starting to come out of one of the darkest periods in the club’s history.
