Spain and Portugal drew 1-1 in their Nations League match thanks to goals from Alvaro Morata and Ricardo Horta.

After 25 minutes of play, Morata scored from close range for Spain in the Nations League A Group 2 opening.

Portugal substitute Horta equalised eight minutes from time after coming off the bench, sending the ball past Unai Simon.

Cristiano Ronaldo of  Manchester United  was seen changing shirts with Pau Torres after the game.

This catches our eye because the Spanish defender has been linked with a move away from Villarreal this summer, and it has been speculated that the Red Devils could make an approach as Erik ten Hag wants to strengthen his defence in the transfer market.

It begs the issue of whether they will be teammates next season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Torres has a €55-60 million release clause.

As the transfer market begins, the promising centre-back is not the only defender on United’s wishlist.

While Ajax prodigy Jurrien Timber is a top priority for Ten Hag, it would be wonderful to see United make some declarations this summer to demonstrate the board’s commitment to the new manager.

Is it too much to expect two top centre-backs in the same transfer window?
