Pep Guardiola sends message to Man City owners on his future after Premier League charges
Despite the recent allegations against Manchester City by the Premier League, Pep Guardiola has stated that he will stay on as the manager as long as he is desired by the club. He has not let the charges affect his commitment to the team and is determined to continue leading the club in their future endeavors.
Guardiola has stated that he will stay as the manager of Manchester City as long as the club wants him to, despite the recent charges by the Premier League for alleged financial breaches.
He believes that City will be found not guilty, just as they were when they faced similar charges and a ban from the Champions League in 2020, which was later overturned on appeal.
Despite the ongoing allegations and his team’s lack of recent success, Guardiola is committed to staying at the club. He explained: “If they (City) want me here, I will be here.
“If the results are not good, they will put me out because it is a business where you have to win. But if they want me I will not let them down – and my players, too.
“I want to defend my title until it’s not possible. Will it be enough? If it’s not enough, if another team, say Arsenal, go on to win I will be the first to call Mikel and say ‘congratulations Mikel, you deserve it’. But I want to fight it.”
The upcoming match against Arsenal is a crucial one for both teams, and it will be interesting to see if Guardiola’s words of determination can translate onto the pitch and bring out a strong performance from his side.
While Arsenal have been in good form this season, it’s never wise to count out Manchester City, who have a history of coming back strong in tough times.
The match is shaping up to be an exciting and potentially defining moment in the title race, and both teams will be looking to come out on top.
He said: “Let us defend (the charges). If it happens, we will accept it. But like UEFA, we will defend. I don’t know what is going to happen. I had the same feeling with UEFA. In fact, UEFA was worse. The players are focused with their talent and their effort. We will see what happens after the sentencing. I don’t want to anticipate what is going to happen.”
