Pep Guardiola delivers update after burglary at Jack Grealish’s home
Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, has given an update on the situation involving one of his key players whose home was burglarized.
Jack Grealish’s mansion near Knutsford was broken into by raiders at the end of last year, resulting in the theft of £1 million worth of jewelry and leaving the English international deeply upset.
In the aftermath of this distressing incident, Grealish has received support from Manchester City’s head of security, and Guardiola notes that the winger’s mental well-being has shown improvement.
He said: “He’s much better. He’s had time to fix so it won’t happen again and the burglars have to know that there is no more jewellery at home.
“Our chief security man is handling it with Jack, his family and his (fiancee). They’re impacted, which is normal. When you’re at home and you have people come inside, it’s scary.”
The burglary took place on Wednesday, December 27, during Manchester City’s Premier League match against Everton.
While members of Jack Grealish’s family and his fiancée Sasha Atwood were watching the televised game, they heard a disturbance, prompting the activation of an alarm.
In response, an emergency operation was initiated, involving a helicopter, police dogs, and several officers dispatched to the property near Knutsford.
Unfortunately, no suspects were detected during the search. According to The Sun newspaper, the thieves managed to escape with £1 million worth of jewelry and watches.
Writing on Instagram, Grealish said: “I can’t begin to explain how devastated I am over the burglary that took place at my home a few days ago.
“My family mean the world to me and nothing is more important than ensuring their safety.
“This has been a traumatic experience for all of us, I am just so grateful that nobody was hurt.
“I have had so many amazing experiences and achievements over the last 12 months, but to be honest the best year of my life in football now doesn’t feel like something I can celebrate.
“The people that commit these terrible crimes have no idea of the damage they cause to people’s lives. I hope they are found and brought to justice so no other family has to go through what we have.
“I appreciate the messages from everyone and the support from my friends, teammates and the club.”
