The former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes has predicted the outcome of Arsenal’s semi-final clash with Villarreal, with the potential for an all-Premier League final in the Europa League between Arsenal and Manchester United but also sent warning to Manchester United .

Paul Scholes thinks Arsenal will progress into the Europa League final tipping the Gunners side to beat Unai Emery’s Villarreal. Arsenal booked their place in the final four of the European competition with a convincing second-leg win over Slavia Prague in the Czech Republic.

Goals from Nicolas Pepe, two from Alexandre Lacazette, and Bukayo Saka fine finish ensured Arsenal thumped Slavia 5-1 on aggregate. Arsenal will now meet their former manager Unai Emery in the next round after Villarreal beat Dinamo Zagreb 3-1 on aggregate.

Manchester United also booked their semi-final place as they cruised past Spanish side Granada 4-0 over two legs.

With the two English teams in the semi-final, Scholes sees a possibility ll-English Europa League final. The former Devils star has backed Arsenal to beat Villarreal in the semis and meet his old club United in the final in Gdansk.

He said:

“That would be great. Arsenal, playing against them, you’d fancy them [United] to win that.”

“Any team left in this competition, they wouldn’t worry about it.”

“The one thing Arsenal do have is the experience of winning a big game, they beat City in an FA Cup final with Arteta,” Scholes added.
“They’ve not been great this year, but that would worry you slightly. I still think United will win it, though.”
