Outstanding Defender OFFICIALLY announces delight after signing three-year deal with Chelsea

Chelsea Women’s Jess Carter has signed a contract extension that will keep her at the club until the summer of 2025.

Carter’s new contract comes after she was a member of England’s Euro 2016 winning side.

Carter, who was previously named PFA Women’s Young Player of the Year, has also won the FA Women’s Community Shield, the Continental League Cup, and the FA Women’s Cup twice, as well as three WSL titles.

Recognized as a versatile player, the 24-year-old has recently succeeded at centre-half, appearing in 36 games last season. The defender is already approaching 100 appearances for the club.

And, after signing a new contract with Chelsea, the defender expressed her excitement at the new deal.

Carter said on the club website: “I’m very excited and proud to extend my contract at Chelsea for three more years.

“I’m looking forward to continuing my development with the team, helping them to become even more successful.”

General manager Paul Green added: “We are really delighted for Jess to sign a new contract with the club.

“She had an outstanding 2021/22 season for both club and country and we want to reward her for those achievements.

“We’re really happy with the way she’s been developing over the last couple of seasons and look forward to seeing that continue in the upcoming years.”
