‘One of the best I’ve ever seen’: Ian Wright names two stars he wish he could’ve played with at Arsenal
During his time at Highbury, Wright had the opportunity to play alongside some absolute legends.
Dennis Bergkamp, Paul Merson, and Marc Overmars were among his teammates at Arsenal, but there are two players he wishes he could have worked with.
Speaking on the Wrighty’s House Podcast, Ian Wright named the two players he wishes he could have played alongside at Arsenal – Cesc Fabregas and Robert Pires. Wright expressed his admiration for Pires and Fabregas.
Indeed, Wright called Fabregas “one of the best players I’ve ever seen.”
“There are two players I’d have loved to have played with at Arsenal, obviously I was lucky enough to play with Dennis (Bergkamp), but that would have been Cesc Fabregas and Pires.
“I adore these guys man, I adore these guys. Robert Pires and Cesc Fabregas, Cesc Fabregas is one of the best I’ve ever seen,” Wright said.
Could you imagine how dangerous Wright would have been on the same team as Fabregas?
The midfielder was one of the Premier League’s most inventive players, while Wright simply tormented defenses.
Unfortunately, their paths never crossed because Wright was a little too old by the time Fabregas arrived on the scene. The 34-year-old, on the other hand, would have been an excellent foil for the former striker.
