Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s sensational chat with staff about Jadon Sancho transfer
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has spoken to members of his staff about how to accommodate Jadon Sancho and get the best from the Borussia Dortmund star, according to reports.
The England international is on the brink of achieving a blockbuster move to Old Trafford. And he’s primed to play a starring role in the future as they go in pursuit of Premier League title grandeur.
Manchester United are, at long last, nearing a settlement for Sancho.
They’ve desired to sign the England international three times in the past, in 2017, 2019, and 2020, only to miss out every single time.
And now United are settling in on a settlement for the 21-year-old, who has managed 30 goal involvements over the past three years.
The imminent arrival of the forward will inspire fans, with Sancho one of the best young players on the planet.
And the Evening Standard say United are already preparing for life with the former Manchester City starlet, with Solskjaer talking to members of his staff about how to contain the 21-year-old.
It’s said they’ve ‘openly discussed’ what he can bring to the team, with expectations high he can be a hit right from the start.
United are reportedly settled Sancho is ‘one of the brightest talents in world football and able of offering a new dimension to their attack’.
And it’s said that his move will give Solskjaer the opportunity to trial Mason Greenwood in the No 9 role more often, with the 19-year-old predominantly used on the right-wing throughout his time in the first team.

United are confident Greenwood can soon develop into a marksman capable of scoring between 20 and 30 goals a season.
And while they’re still involved in Erling Haaland, and fans of Harry Kane, they’re unlikely to make an offer for either player given their huge price tags.
Both Haaland and Kane are valued at £150million each by Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham receptively.
And United understands Sancho can help Greenwood get even better, with Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes set to line up alongside the forward once the transfer agreement is done.
Sancho is unlikely to be the last addition the club makes this summer.
They’re keen on docking Raphael Varane, while Sergio Ramos and Pau Torres have both been associated as possible alternatives.
At right-back, Kieran Trippier is seen as the ideal player to galvanize Aaron Wan-Bissaka – having seen Alex Telles do the same to Luke Shaw on the opposite flank.
And, up top, United aren’t entirely ruling out an opportunity for Juventus player Cristiano Ronaldo with Italian media implying an emotional homecoming is a real possibility.
United co-owner Joel Glazer has made it plain he’ll back Solskjaer on the transfer front, emphasizing they can battle with Europe’s elite for the best players in the world.
“We think that Manchester United is a very well run club, and we think clubs throughout football could take a look at us, and there’s a lot of good to be seen when it comes to some of these things that are controversial,” Glazer said.
“We’re able to spend with the top clubs throughout Europe, whether it’s wages or transfer fees, we’ve been able to keep our ticket prices low, we’ve not increased them in over 10 years.
“We’re able to pay a dividend but it’s a modest proportion of our five to six hundred million pounds of revenue; it’s less than three percent of that.
“We have debt, but a lot of other clubs do have debt as well. We pay a very low interest rate, mostly fixed interest debt. So, if interest rates went up it would not affect us, but we had made progress in reducing our debt over the last several years. The net debt was meaningfully reduced a couple years ago.”
He then added: “It [debt and dividend payments] has never stood in the way of us pursuing players or transfers on the pitch.
“We may have walked away from transfers at times because the other side wanted an outlandish number.
“And while it’s easy to pay it that one time, it does have consequences.
“You do it once and the next person expects it, and then the next person expects it.
“And that’s not good, ultimately, for the club. So, we think that we’re able to accomplish all these things and still have.
“We’re going to keep investing on the pitch, which we did last year, and we plan on doing it meaningfully this year. So, we feel that we’re in a good spot.”
