‘Nothing is’: Erling Haaland reacts to Arsenal question after Manchester City beat Palace
Erling Haaland, the striker for Manchester City, has cautioned Arsenal, managed by Mikel Arteta, that there is a long way to go in the Premier League title race.
Following Manchester City’s 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday evening, Haaland, who scored a penalty, reminded Arsenal that they have yet to play at Etihad next month.
Despite Arsenal currently holding a two-point lead, they can increase it to five if they defeat Fulham, who have exceeded expectations since being promoted, on Sunday.
Manchester City is likely to continue winning and accumulating points through various means. When Arsenal faces them on April 26th, it wouldn’t be unexpected if there is only a small point difference between the two teams.
This is due to Guardiola’s access to a frightening amount of talent, including being able to leave Kevin de Bruyne on the bench for their game against Crystal Palace.
Despite this, Haaland had a message for Arsenal after Manchester City’s victory, which he conveyed to Premier League Productions on March 11th at 7:35 pm.
“Every single game (is tough) and now Leipzig (in the Champions League) is the next game, then it’s Burnley (in the FA Cup) and we have to win,” said Haaland.
“We have to win games. Of course, this gap (to Arsenal). We have to just focus on ourselves. We have them at home. We still have a lot of games yet to play still and nothing is decided yet.
“I enjoy it. This is England. This is what I have been watching my whole life, so I enjoy every single second of being in it and I enjoy being in the middle of it.”
Arsenal still has control over their fate because they have an extra game to play, and they will also face Manchester City next month. However, ultimately, the number of points earned is what matters most.
Injuries, or the lack thereof, will be a critical factor in the final few months of the season.
Gabriel Jesus and Emile Smith Rowe are returning, but will Thomas Partey be able to avoid getting injured? If Arsenal is fortunate in terms of injuries, they may have a chance to end their title drought.
