‘Not in my hands…’ Mo Salah finally breaks silence over Liverpool future

Mohamed Salah, a Liverpool star, gave an insight into his future with the club on Friday.

Salah’s future has, of course, taken center stage in the media in recent weeks.

This comes as Liverpool tries to secure a long-term deal for their star player.

Salah has established himself as not only the Premier League’s top performer, but also, in the view of many, the most in-form player in the entire football, in the early stages of the season.

Salah has a total of twelve goals and four assists in his eleven matches so far in the 2021/22 season.

As a result, it should come as no surprise that those in positions of power at Anfield have began to ramp up their efforts to lock down the talented wide-man for the foreseeable future.

Salah’s current contract with Merseyside is set to expire in the summer of 2023, allowing him to leave at any time.

Meanwhile, recent rumors have suggested that the Egyptian is demanding a massive £400,000-per-week wage, raising uncertainty on a renewal.

In turn, Salah was understandably questioned about his long-term commitment to Liverpool in an interview with Sky Sports ahead of his side’s match against Manchester United this weekend.

Salah went on to say that the matter is ‘not in my hands’, despite the fact that the former Chelsea man was anxious to guarantee that he would be more than glad to see out the remainder of his playing days on Merseyside:

“If you ask me, I would love to stay until the last day of my football career, but I can’t say much about that – it’s not in my hands.

“It depends on what the club want, not on me. At the moment I can’t see myself ever playing against Liverpool. That would make me sad. It’s hard, I don’t want to talk about it, but it would make me really sad.”
