‘Not even celebrating anymore’ Former Tottenham player makes ‘a painful to watch’ claim about Spurs

Jamie O’Hara, a former Tottenham midfielder, asserts that only four members of Antonio Conte’s team are qualified to play for the club. On Saturday, Spurs defeated Leeds 4-3 in overtime, but O’Hara was unimpressed by what he saw.

Three times at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Leeds held the lead but were ultimately defeated. Spurs ultimately took the lead with seven minutes remaining in regulation as Rodrigo Bentancur scored the second goal of his brace.

Rodrigo had scored two goals for the visitors early in the match as Tottenham’s defense continued to struggle. O’Hara states that he has reached the stage where he refuses to celebrate Spurs goals because he fears surrendering.

He said on talkSPORT: “It’s a painful watch, Spurs right now, they really are. They really are.

“I don’t know how we’ve dug it out, I don’t know how we’ve dug out a win there, I’ll never know. Because honestly, after 75 minutes, I wanted to go home.

“They’ve sucked the life out of me. I’m not even celebrating anymore because I’m just so stressed out watching Spurs play. Every time we look like we’re going to win a game, we go and concede. The only time I celebrate is when we score in the dying moments, because the game’s over.”

O’Hara says two-goal Bentancur is one of just four players now deserving of a spot on Antonio Conte’s team. After recovering from injury, Dejan Kulusevski excelled in his return to the Premier League in September.

O’Hara cited the Swede, Harry Kane, and midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg as the three other players he believes are up to par. The pundit continued, “I was seething when we went 3-2 down against Leeds.

“The only saving grace that we’ve got at the minute is that we’ve got Bentancur in our side, Kulusevski and Harry Kane. The rest of them are miles off it.

“Maybe Hojbjerg deserves to be in with a shout of being good enough to warrant playing in this team. The rest of them, nowhere near good enough.

“[Davinson] Sanchez should never, ever be coming on the football pitch for Tottenham. He plays with cement in his feet.

“Honestly it’s shocking. Emerson Royal, how Djed Spence is not being given an opportunity I’ll never know.”
