‘Not an issue’: Romano argues Chelsea have no problem selling their ‘decisive’ star who has already met another club

Fabrizio Romano claims on his YouTube channel that Chelsea has no objections to Hakim Ziyech leaving the club this summer.

The winger made his first appearance of the season against Leeds United at the weekend, but the damage had already been done thanks to two first-half goals.

He looked reasonably sharp in his cameo appearance, but it would have been easy for him to stand out in what turned out to be a forgettable afternoon for the Blues.

Despite the club’s recent attacking  woes, and even months, under Thomas Tuchel, the Moroccan has struggled to break into the starting lineup at all.

It was even reported that the two had a falling out, with the manager more than willing to sell him this summer.

Romano may have backed this up by implying that any suitors will have little difficulty negotiating a deal with Chelsea.

He said: “There was a meeting on Monday morning between Huntelaar, director of Ajax, and Ziyech himself in Amsterdam. An important meeting, because the player is tempted by Ajax. But, we have to see if they will find an agreement.

“There seems to not be an issue Chelsea’s side, because they are prepared to let Ziyech go since the beginning of the market.”

A return to Ajax could be in Ziyech’s best interests, as he is unquestionably playing the best football of his career with the Dutch champions.

Chelsea have also been linked with a number of wingers, which could make it even more difficult for Ziyech, who has been described as “decisive” since moving to England.

The Blues are still interested in Anthony Gordon, but supporters will be more excited by recent news that they are interested in Rafael Leao from AC Milan.
