New dates for Manchester United and Man City matches confirmed as Premier League issues apology
The Premier League schedules of  Manchester United and Man City have become clearer as new dates for some of their games have been announced.
United’s matches against Brighton and West Ham United have been rescheduled, while City’s games against the Hammers and Leeds United have been confirmed.
However, Erik ten Hag’s team may face difficulties in the final months of the season due to their progress in cup competitions, resulting in a backlog of fixtures.
Manchester United has already won the Carabao Cup this season and is in the semi-finals of the FA Cup and the last eight of the Europa League, adding pressure to their pursuit of two more trophies and a top-four finish in the Premier League.
United’s game with Brighton, which was postponed due to a conflict with the FA Cup quarter-finals, has been rescheduled.
The match between Manchester United and Brighton & Hove Albion has been scheduled for Thursday, May 4th at 8pm, and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports. Consequently, United’s game against West Ham United has been rescheduled for Sunday, May 7th at 7pm and will be aired on BT Sport.
The Premier League match between Manchester United and Chelsea, which was initially scheduled for April 22 but postponed due to United’s participation in the FA Cup semi-finals, has not been given a new date yet.
On the other hand, Manchester City will host West Ham at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday, May 3rd at 8pm, and this game will be broadcasted live on Sky Sports. Pep Guardiola’s team will then visit Leeds on Sunday, May 7th, with a 2pm kick-off time. However, this match is subject to change depending on City’s possible Champions League commitments in the following midweek.
The Premier League has apologized to fans for the delay in announcing the fixtures for the first week of May, which were confirmed on Thursday. The league explained that it took longer than anticipated to finalize the schedule due to difficulties surrounding the weekend of the Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort.
Additionally, the Premier League has set new provisional announcement dates for match-weeks 36 and 37, which are now scheduled for April 6th and April 14th, respectively. This means that the next round of matches will be played before any further adjustments are made to the schedule, which should help with planning.
