‘My staff told me’: Pep Guardiola shocked by what he’s learned about Arsenal now

According to Football.London, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has praised Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and says the Gunners have been “exceptional” this season.

Guardiola is surprised that Manchester City is now trailing Arsenal in the Premier League table despite having collected more points at this time of the season than in previous seasons.

Arsenal now leads the Premier League table with 34 points from 13 games, two points ahead of defending champions and second-placed City.

Guardiola said: “We could be top of the league! But Arsenal have been exceptional.

“I think yesterday one guy on my staff told me that we had more points in the Premier League [at this stage of the season] than I think in the last four seasons!

“So that means we have been really good, but another team has been better. We have to accept it. This is the level, the bar, the standards.”

The Gunners are winning games and performing well right now, and they are putting pressure on City.

Liverpool appears unlikely to finish in the top four of the Premier League this season.

Tottenham Hotspur have already fallen eight points behind Arsenal despite having played one extra game.

Manchester United are not prepared to compete for the Premier League title this season.

As a result, it appears that Arsenal will be City’s main rival for the Premier League title this season.
