Mudryk breaks his silence on Chelsea unhappiness claim after Arsenal transfer snub
Chelsea’s Mykhailo Mudryk has spoken out about rumors that he is dissatisfied with the club since transferring there in January. Mudryk, a Ukrainian international, joined Chelsea for a fee that could reach £88.5million, choosing them over Arsenal despite previous links to the north London club.
The transfer to Chelsea caught many off guard, but Mudryk’s performances since joining have not lived up to expectations.
The 22-year-old had to work on his fitness to catch up with his new teammates, as he had not played for some time prior to the World Cup with Shakhtar Donetsk.
Shakhtar Donetsk’s Darijo Srna suggested that Mudryk might not be happy at Chelsea during an appearance on the Football Ramble Podcast, adding that he has the potential to be one of the best players in the Premier League.
This led to speculation about a potential move back to Shakhtar or to league leaders Arsenal. However, Mudryk has since spoken out on social media to deny the claim that he is unhappy.
Under a post from Chelsea after the defeat to Tottenham, Instagram user @yugiizman commented: “Hello @mmudryk10 are you happy with Chelsea now?” The winger responded with a prompt reply, shutting down any discussions over his unrest by simply saying: “Yes.”
It is uncertain how Mudryk will perform in the long-term, as there are ongoing issues both on and off the pitch that have resulted in poor results for the team. However, if Mudryk can consistently display his abilities, it is possible that both he and the team will experience a turnaround in their fortunes.
