Mohamed Salah’s FIFA Best Men’s Player ranking revealed

The results of the FIFA Best Men’s Player voting were released, showing that Mohamed Salah from Liverpool earned two points for his performance and finished in 14th place.

Lionel Messi from Paris Saint Germain won The Best FIFA Men’s Player award for the second time, thanks in part to leading Argentina to victory in the FIFA World Cup in Qatar last December.

The full voting results were made public by FIFA after the ceremony held in Paris.

Although Liverpool lost the English Premier League title on the last day of the season, Mohamed Salah had an impressive individual performance during the 2021/22 season.

He won the Premier League Golden Boot with 26 goals and was named Playmaker of the season with 13 assists. In addition, he received accolades such as PFA Players’ Player of the Year, FWA Football of the Year, and PFA Fans’ Player of the Year.

However, this season has been difficult for Salah and the entire Liverpool team. The 30-year-old player has only scored eight goals in the English Premier League thus far.

For the first time since 2017, Mohamed Salah did not finish in the top six of the FIFA Best Men’s Player rankings.

However, his former teammate at Liverpool, Sadio Mane, finished in sixth place, making him the highest ranked African player. Achraf Hakimi, the right-back for Paris Saint Germain, finished in eighth place, making him Africa’s second highest ranked player.
