Mikel Arteta’s ‘chosen one’ requests to leave current club ‘as soon as possible’
One of Arsenal’s main transfer targets has informed Real Madrid that he wishes to leave the club “as soon as possible.”
Mikel Arteta’s ‘chosen one’ is said to be Luka Jovic, as the Gunners manager looks for a replacement for Alexandre Lacazette, who is set to leave North London for free at the end of his current contract next summer.
The Serbian international has struggled at the Bernabeu this season, with minutes difficult to come by under Carlo Ancelotti.

Jovic scored 27 goals in 48 games during the 2018/2019 season, giving him a total of 36 goals in all competitions during his time in Germany prior to his big money move to Los Blancos.
He was unable to replicate this during his most recent stay at the Waldstadion, as he only added four more goals to his overall tally for Frankfurt.
Despite his struggles, Arteta sees the striker as a key component in his future plans, according to Fichajes.net.
Lacazette appears set to leave the Emirates in June, with the Frenchman refusing to extend his stay in North London.
He will be able to begin talks with other clubs about a pre-contract agreement in two months.
So far this season, he has not been a part of the manager’s plans, having made only two league appearances, both from the bench.
He joined the club in 2017 and has scored 67 goals in 174 appearances across all competitions.
