Mikel Arteta personally discloses when Thomas Partey will return from injury
Mikel Arteta, the Arsenal manager, has provided information on the expected return date of the injured midfielder, Thomas Partey, who was absent from the Gunners’ game against Aston Villa.
Speaking to BT sport pre-game, Arteta said on Partey: “He’s (Thomas) not fit. He didn’t even train with us yesterday. He wasn’t feeling good enough to do that so he probably need another week.”
Since joining Arsenal from Atletico Madrid last summer, the 29-year-old Thomas Partey has been an important player for the club, but his season has been marred by injuries. He suffered a muscular injury, which caused him to miss the midweek game against Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium, and also kept him out of the match against Aston Villa.
However, despite Partey’s absence, Arsenal ended their Premier League struggles with a 4-2 win over Aston Villa. This win was the team’s first in four games and lifted them to the top of the table.
It is expected that Thomas Partey will return to the pitch soon, which will be a relief for Arsenal as they aim to secure European football for next season.
With a crucial run of games coming up, including matches against Man City and Liverpool, the Gunners will require all their players to be in top form and fitness if they are to meet their targets for this season.
Mikel Arteta will be eagerly awaiting Partey’s speedy recovery from his injury, as he hopes to help Arsenal maintain their momentum and challenge for the Premier League title in the remainder of the campaign.
