Leandro Trossard has made an impressive start at Arsenal after joining them in the January transfer window from Brighton for a fee of around £21million with add-ons.

The Belgian player has played for 390 minutes in the Premier League and has contributed with one goal and five assists, resulting in a remarkable average of a direct goal contribution every 65 minutes for his new team.

During Arsenal’s 3-0 triumph over Fulham on Sunday, Leandro Trossard provided all three assists for the Gunners’ goals, enabling them to increase their lead at the top of the table by five points.

As a result, some Arsenal fans have drawn comparisons between Trossard and Santi Cazorla, who played for the club from 2012 to 2018 and helped them win three FA Cups.

“Wears number 19 (tick emoji) Scored a hat-trick of goals and assists in the same season (tick emoji) Iconic celebration (tick emoji),” Reddit user topbananaman posted alongside a picture of Cazorla and Trossard.

The statistic refers to Cazorla’s 2012/13 campaign, when he provided a whopping four assists during a win against Wigan in the same season he netted a hat-trick during a game versus Reading.

Indeed, as mentioned earlier, Leandro Trossard had an outstanding performance during Arsenal’s victory over Fulham, providing three assists.

This is in addition to the three goals he scored earlier this season for his former team Brighton in a 3-3 draw against Liverpool.
