Messi, Ronaldo, Mbappe: Ranking the top 50 players at the 2022 World Cup

This weekend marks the start of the FIFA World Cup, which will feature the participation of numerous notable athletes.

ESPN has asked television analysts, reporters, columnists, producers, and editors from around the globe to vote on which players they believe to be the best in Qatar.

They have compiled the results and compiled a list of the top 50 players for this year’s tournament.

It could very well be Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo’s final World Cup appearances.

In Qatar, the two legends will attempt to lead their respective nations to victory.

Neymar will lead an all-star Brazil squad, which will also feature Robert Lewandowski, Kylian Mbappe, and Karim Benzema, among others.

Ederson will likely play second fiddle to Alisson at the World Cup, but is still ranked among Qatar’s top 50 players.

After suffering a cardiac arrest at Euro 2020, Eriksen has made a miraculous recovery. The 30-year-old remains the most important player for Denmark.

Saka (48th) and Gavi (45th) are two of the world’s most talented young players. Each could play a significant role in the forthcoming tournament.

Jesus was ranked as the 39th best player in Qatar and sneaked into Brazil’s squad after a strong start to the season with Arsenal.

Alexander-Arnold is ranked as the 35th best player in Qatar, but it is unclear how much playing time Gareth Southgate gives him.

He finishes just ahead of Hakimi, another highly talented right back and Morocco’s star player.

Premier League stars Fernandes and Alisson are among the top thirty.

Bellingham, who is only 19 years old, is the 22nd best player in Qatar. He may be essential to England’s hopes.

Despite his struggles this season, Ronaldo was ranked as the twentieth best player at the World Cup. He will attempt to rediscover his magic on the largest stage in the world.

Portugal teammates Cancelo and Silva also rank among the top 20.

Kane has been ranked eleventh, just above Liverpool’s Van Dijk, as England’s best player at the World Cup.
