Medical booked as Liverpool agree to sign player rejected by Tottenham
Liverpool have agreed to sign Newcastle United wonderkid Bobby Clark after he was rejected by Tottenham.
According to Football Insider, Spurs had knocked back the 16-year-old midfielder after being awarded him by intermediaries ahead of the summer.
The same source has alleged being informed by Liverpool that Clark has arrived at the club to undergo a medical and put pen to paper on a contract.
The England youth international is set to join up with the Merseysiders’ Under-18s when the deal is finalised.
Liverpool regards it as a coup to have settled the son of Lee Clark.
But, intriguingly, the Spurs academy coach Paul Bracewell urged his club not to sign Clark after running the rule over him earlier this year.

North-east based Bracewell saw the teenager in action over an extended period before coming to the end.
Clark has already been in the media spotlight after breaking numerous records at St. James’ Park.
He became the youngest-ever player to represent Newcastle’s Under-18s at the age of 14 years and 206 days when he made his debut as a substitute in August 2019.
However, since making waves in the Under-18s his journey seemingly stalled over the last 12 months.
The teenager grappled for game time last term after being handed a scholarship deal by Newcastle.
Clark has represented England at Under-16 level and has long been rated one of the best recruits in his age group.
His father is a legend on Tyneside, having played more than 150 games for the Toon after graduating from the club’s youth ranks.
