Mbappe gets Chelsea transfer message amid Boehly interest in PSG megastar

Kylian Mbappe let his football do the talking for Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night, scoring in a 1-1 draw in the Champions League, but his future remains uncertain.

Since details of his desire to leave France emerged earlier this year, the 23-year-old has been at the center of intense transfer speculation, and before his side’s match against Benfica, he stole the limelight once more, as Marca reported that the World Cup winner was still desperate to leave.

For a long time, it was assumed that Mbappe’s next destination would be Real Madrid, but Marca reports that he will not be joining Los Blancos, alerting potential suitors from other major clubs.

Chelsea is one of those clubs with previous ties to Mbappe, and given Todd Boehly’s determination to make a statement signing for the club amid links with Cristiano Ronaldo, the Blues could find themselves in the running to be his next club.

Mbappe has grown dissatisfied with PSG despite only signing a new contract earlier this year, but his goal scoring continues to astound.

He has four goals in four Champions League games and eight goals in nine league games, proving that he is not deterred by the speculation.

Before facing Benfica, Mbappe received a message from Rio Ferdinand, asking him to address the situation.

“Kylian, we talk a lot, come to me, speak to me,” Ferdinand said. “Just come to me, we will do a one to one, and you spoke perfect English. Let’s get this done, crush all the rumours and get back to playing football.”

The longer Mbappe’s future remains uncertain, the more rumors will emerge and spread. It’s debatable whether the France international would fit in with Graham Potter’s squad.

His work rate off the ball has been called into question, and Chelsea have already seen the consequences with Rafael Leao’s failed audition across two legs.

With the winter World Cup still to come, any decision on his future will most likely have to wait, but according to French football expert Julien Laurens, Boehly and Chelsea will be one of many teams waiting in the wings, with the forward looking for a footballing and financial project to join next.
