MASSIVE: Cristiano Ronaldo gets a huge windfall after his hat-trick vs Norwich and he’s not done yet

Cristiano Ronaldo’s 60th professional hat-trick netted him an £850,000 profit.

The superstar forward scored a treble at Old Trafford for the second Premier League game in a row to secure a win against Norwich.

It brought him to 21 goals in all competitions this season, activating a bonus-related condition in his contract.

When Cristiano Ronaldo returned to Manchester United in the summer, a package of incentives was included in the deal.

Saturday’s heroics earned him two of them, the first a £750,000 bonus for reaching 20 goals, and the second a £100,000 extra for his hat-trick hit.

After reaching his initial goal target, the Portuguese ace will continue to pocket an extra £100,000 for each subsequent goal he scores this season, like he did yesterday.

Ronaldo, 37, is very expected to finish the season as United’s top scorer, earning another jackpot of over £1 million.

And if he manages to reach the 30-goal milestone, the five-time World Footballer of the Year will receive almost £2.75 million in total compensation.

After two Teemu Pukki goals cancelled out a Ronaldo tap-in and soaring header, United desperately needed him against Norwich.

His winner came from a powerful free kick, despite the fact that Canaries keeper Tim Krul got both hands on it.

United boss Ralf Rangnick insisted: “I don’t think we need to speak about Ronaldo’s performance today.

“Another hat trick, like the one he scored against Tottenham, made the difference, and at least two of them were not easy to score, the second and third.”

Ronaldo still has a year left on his deal that brought him back to Old Trafford last summer, but some have questioned if he is worth seeing it out.

Rangnick, who will be replaced by permanent manager Erik ten Hag at the end of the season, refused to get engaged in the debate.

“In the end,” he said, “It is not my decision, He has another year of his contract and it’s one for the new manager and board to take on.

“But he showed against Tottenham and today how he can be the difference. It’s no coincidence he has the highest scoring record of anyone in history.”
