Mason Mount is reportedly becoming ‘frustrated’ at Chelsea, which has dealt Thomas Tuchel a devastating transfer blow.

Mount was a key player under Frank Lampard before the Englishman was sacked, and Tuchel made him a first-choice starter in his first six months at Stamford Bridge.

Mount, on the other hand, has fallen down the pecking order in the German’s first full campaign in charge.

He started the first three Premier League games before being benched against Aston Villa and hauled off at half-time against Tottenham.

Mount has started just two of Chelsea’s seven Premier League games since that victory over Tottenham, having struggled to recapture his form from previous seasons.

His hat-trick against Norwich City remains his only goal in any competition this season, with the 22-year-old also picking up two assists.

Tuchel has chosen to give his other attacking options a chance to shine as Mount struggles to create chances.

Tuchel’s decision, however, is said to have had a negative impact on Mount, who is said to be becoming increasingly dissatisfied with his role.

Mount, according to the  Daily Star, feels ‘underappreciated’ at Stamford Bridge because of how he is treated in comparison to the club’s other big-name stars.

Despite becoming one of the Blues’ most important players, the midfielder believes he is still being treated as a youth team player.

According to the report, a source close to Mount’s camp revealed the England international’s frustrations.

“Mason is a top lad and thought of well within Chelsea, and is popular with the team. But he isn’t feeling appreciated anymore,” the source told the Star.

“He’s been at Chelsea since he was a tiny lad, but despite coming up through the academy, he doesn’t feel like he gets the same treatment or recognition as players bought in for big money.”

Tuchel must act quickly to quell those annoyances, with the Star reporting that Mount is “prepared to leave” if the issues are not resolved.

He has nearly three years left on his contract, which he signed after returning from a loan spell at Derby County.

That contract pays him £75,000 per week, making him one of Tuchel’s lowest-paid players.

Chelsea initiated contract talks with Mount in September, but there has been no sign of progress.

If he does leave, Liverpool appears to be his preferred destination, with the Blues star previously praising Reds manager Jurgen Klopp.

“I spoke to a couple of the boys about playing there and they say it is unbelievable,” Mount has said in the past.
