Mason Mount linked with surprise move to Liverpool

Mason Mount linked with surprise move to Liverpool

Liverpool has been linked with a bid for Mason Mount as contract negotiations with Chelsea have stalled.

Mount’s contract expires in just over 18 months, and according to The Guardian, his condition has encouraged clubs to investigate the possibility of luring him away from Stamford Bridge.

The Guardian stated that Liverpool and Juventus are monitoring the midfielder, since Mount and Chelsea have had difficulty agreeing a new agreement.

According to The Athletic, a number of obstacles prevent Mount from signing a new contract, with salary being one of the most significant.

Mount has appeared in every game for Chelsea so far this season, and was Frank Lampard and Thomas Tuchel’s clear favorite in prior administrations.

Mount aspires to become one of the highest-paid players in the club, as he believes he is one of the most valuable players. The Chelsea owners are uncertain as to whether or not this would be a prudent decision.

Mason Mount to Liverpool

Mount to Liverpool would make a lot of sense on paper, given Jurgen Klopp’s penchant for transforming decent players into great ones.

Mount is clearly a good footballer, but it is his work ethic and durability that could entice Liverpool to the Englishman.

As previously said, Mount has played nearly every minute for Chelsea for years. This type of focus and effort would make Klopp’s ears perk up.

Chelsea may be reluctant to allow a player of his caliber leave, especially given that he came through the club’s academy, but with Liverpool’s reputation for being economical in the transfer market, this story has legs.
