Martinelli makes Saka contract prediction: ‘Arsenal is his home’
Gabriel Martinelli is optimistic that his Arsenal teammate Bukayo Saka will imitate him and commit to a new contract at Arsenal.
In February, the Brazilian attacker Gabriel Martinelli renewed his contract with the Gunners, which will keep him at the Emirates club at least until 2027. Similarly, Arsenal is currently in the process of negotiating a new contract with Saka, whose current deal is set to expire in 2024.
It is understood that Arsenal have a general agreement with Saka regarding a new contract and are currently focusing on ironing out the specific details.
“I will be happy because he is a very, very good player, one of the best young players in the world,” said Martinelli, when asked about the prospect of Saka staying.
“He is at his house, you know. Arsenal is his home and for sure he is happy. And we will be happy as well if he stays and signs a new deal.
“We always have some jokes – me, him and [William] Saliba. But it’s up to him. But he will stay for sure. He loves the club.”
