Marina Granovskaia can complete £11.5m Eden Hazard disparity but Chelsea must resign wonderkid
Chelsea have been dealt a major transfer quandary ahead of the winter window after igniting a transfer war with Real Madrid.
The Blues have found themselves in a predicament in which Roman Abramovich and Florentino Perez are both interested in one of England’s most exciting young players, while Chelsea is also interested in Eden Hazard.
Fulham could face a transfer bidding war for one of their prized assets because both sides are as financially powerful as the other.
In football’s current economic climate, a reasonable deal could be struck between Chelsea and Real Madrid that would satisfy both Abramovich and Perez while avoiding overpayment.
But first, the Blues and Los Blancos must resolve a £11.5m valuation disparity over a potential deal that could bring the 30-year-old winger back to Stamford Bridge.
Earlier this season, it was revealed that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich was interested in reuniting with Hazard just a few years after his £103 million departure from Stamford Bridge.
According to El Nacional, Abramovich is convinced that the Belgian can reclaim his place as one of the best players in the world if he returns to west London.
However, the report claims that Chelsea is unwilling to pay more than £34 million for Hazard, despite the fact that Transfermarkt now values him at £22.5 million.
Chelsea joined Real Madrid in the race to sign Fabio Carvalho in the midst of the west Londoners’ Hazard transfer saga, according to Eurosport, following reports claiming that the 19-year-old is likely to leave Craven Cottage in the summer.
Carvalho, whose contract at Fulham expires at the end of the season, has made a promising start in the Championship under Marco Silva, assisting on four goals in seven games.
With Chelsea and Real Madrid vying for the England youth international, Marina Granovskaia may use the disparity in Hazard’s evaluation as leverage to negotiate a new contract for the club’s former number ten.
In doing so, the European champions could abandon their pursuit of Carvalho, giving Carlo Ancelotti’s side a significant boost in their transfer pursuit of the youngster – though this is unlikely to be a free run.
However, if Thomas Tuchel’s Champions League winners pull the plug on a Carvalho deal, it could help the Blues’ efforts to sign Hazard.
