Marcus Rashford unhappy with one aspect of Manchester United’s performance vs Leicester City despite 3-0 win

According to the Manchester Evening News, Marcus Rashford, the forward of Manchester United, has emphasized the need for his team to start games in a better way in the future, following their recent win against Leicester City.

Despite the victory of United by a score of 3-0, the outcome could have been different if David de Gea had not made two exceptional saves when the score was 0-0.

In fact, Leicester had more half-chances and were unable to execute the final pass. However, once Rashford scored the first goal, the game settled down for United.

In the second half, the team performed much better, helped by Leicester’s decision to chase the game, which left gaps at the back.

Here’s what the Englishman said about the slow start from the team (h/t Manchester Evening News):

“I think first half we didn’t actually play that well, second half we played a lot better.

“We found people in pockets, found Bruno in pockets, Fred and they’re creating chances for us. We need to try and look to do that from the beginning but it’s also a positive that we’re not playing at our best and going in at halftime a goal up. So definitely stuff to improve on and learn from but overall a good day.”

It’s reassuring that the players have acknowledged the need to address certain matters despite their easy victory in the game. They recognize that the crucial phase of the season is approaching.

Even though United’s recent triumph against Leicester allowed them to maintain their third position in the standings, they’re currently just three points behind Manchester City, who are in second place, and five points behind league leaders Arsenal.

Nevertheless, since they still have a chance in all four competitions, it’s important not to get too ahead of themselves. The next significant match is approaching, which is the second leg of the Europa League matchup against Barcelona.

There’s also a cup final scheduled for next Sunday. This will be an opportunity for Erik ten Hag and his team to win their first trophy of the season. Hopefully, this will be the first of many successful campaigns for them.
