Manchester United’s next six Premier League fixtures compared with Arsenal, Man City and rivals as they enter title race

Manchester United , who currently sit in third place in the league table, recently drew 2-2 with Barcelona in the first leg of their Europa League knockout round play-off match and defeated Leicester 3-0 at home.

Marcus Rashford had an impressive performance in both encounters, scoring a goal and creating another in the exciting match at Camp Nou and finding the net twice vs Leicester.

Although much of the attention is on the second leg against Barcelona and the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United at Wembley next Sunday, manager Erik ten Hag must ensure that his team remains focused on their upcoming challenge.

After Manchester United’s 3-0victory over Leicester, United are five points behind both Arsenal and three points behind City in the Premier League table.

Although they are not under immense pressure to compete for the title, they have work to do if they want to secure a place in the top four and qualify for the Champions League next season.

As the race for the title and the top-four spots heats up, SportsDias has analyzed United’s next six league fixtures and compared them to those of the teams they are currently competing with in the table.

Manchester United – 3rd (46pts)

  • Liverpool (A) – March 5
  • Southampton (H) – March 11
  • Brighton & Hove Albion (A) – March 19
  • Newcastle United (A) – April 1
  • Everton (H) – April 8
  • Nottingham Forest(A) – April 5

Verdict:

It seems that Manchester United has a relatively favorable upcoming schedule in the Premier League, with two home and four away fixtures in their next six matches. United have a good chance of earning a solid points total in this run of games, with potential victories against Southampton, Everton, and Forest.

However, no match result is guaranteed, and that United will likely face tough tests against Brighton and Newcastle, both of whom are aiming for European qualification themselves. Recent victory over Everton, and suggests that United may never have a better chance to beat Liverpool at Anfield given the current form of the two teams.

Overall, it seems that the upcoming fixtures present an opportunity for United to climb the Premier League table and potentially challenge for a higher position. However, they will need to be focused and disciplined in their approach in order to come away with positive results against all of their opponents.
