Manchester United’s first bid for Jadon Sancho rejected by Dortmund.
According to various sources, including BBC, Sport1, and Goal, Borussia Dortmund have declined the first bid that Manchester United have made for Jadon Sancho.
The bid was worth €78m (£67m), but BVB are assumed to be holding out for €90m, plus add-ons of at least €5m.
Another point of contention seems to be from the point of view of the installment structure, with Dortmund asking for the full amount to be paid in 4 years, while United wish to do it in 5.
For now, it is unclear whether the Red Devils will return with an improved offer, though probably it’s not a one-and-done situation and they will finally achieve the transfer that they wanted to twelve months ago already.

United have named a fallback option should they be unable to find an agreement with Dortmund, apparently enquiring about Kingsley Coman, who’s also been linked tenuously with Chelsea.
Coman’s agreement renewal talks with Bayern have been at a halt for a while, and they may be willing to let him go at the right price of around €50m.
(If that happens, they would surely step up their efforts to entice Callum Hudson-Odoi once again to leave Chelsea.)
On the other hand, United’s failure to land Sancho could very well increase attempts to acquire Erling Haaland, with Borussia Dortmund looking to raise funds through player sales this summer.
Speaking of Sancho, the South London-born England winger has “admitted” in an interview recently that he was a Chelsea fan growing up, idolizing Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba, though of course he already “admitted” this at least once before, back in 2019, and childhood club preferences have very little if any bearing on professional career choices.
