Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo shares one-word update after being dropped for the Chelsea encounter

Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United has reacted to his exclusion from the Premier League travelling squad that will face Chelsea on Saturday (October 22).

Manager Erik ten Hag has given the veteran forward a time out after he walked out during his team’s last game against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford. That game was won by United 2-0.

On Friday, Manchester United announced their matchday squad, which did not include the Portuguese superstar.

Ronaldo has now provided a one-word update on the situation via his Instagram story, saying (as reported by Manchester Evening News):

“Continuamos” (with a prayer, thumbs-up and spot on emoji)
It translates to “we continue” in English.

Ronaldo’s indiscipline may have stemmed from his frustration at not being able to start the high-octane match against Spurs.

He scored three goals against them last time out, assisting his team to a crucial victory over Antonio Conte’s men.

Despite scoring 24 goals in 38 games for the Red Devils last season, Ronaldo’s relationship with the club has been strained this season.

It all started with his rumoured desire to leave the club in search of another that could offer him Champions League football.

The squabble allegedly caused the forward to miss a significant amount of pre-season.

He made even more headlines when he walked out during his team’s pre-season friendly against Rayo Vallecano at halftime.

The player’s season has not started well, and he is now mostly on the bench, with the coach preferring Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford.
