Manchester United player returns to training still wearing cast for injury
Manchester United’s Luke Shaw is back in training for Manchester United. That’s great news.
The sad news is the left-back seems still not to be at 100 per cent.
Shaw was pictured at United’s training camp in Scotland with his teammates as preparations are stepped up for the new term.
He was also seen still wearing a cast on his hurt left wrist.
Shaw’s wrist injury is not severe enough to stop him from playing, which is a comfort with Alex Telles out with an injured ankle.
Shaw actually played at Euro 2020 with his ruptured wrist ligaments, but he had worried originally that the injury could rule him out of the competition.
The United defender told Talksport at the time: “I’ve just ruptured the ligaments across the top of my wrist. It is not too bad, not a break – just the ligament.

“I was a little bit worried, because I thought, maybe if it is the bad one then maybe I might have to have an operation or something.

“He didn’t say anything and I was a little bit panicky, but then obviously the next morning I’ve got the results and it wasn’t as bad as they thought so I was fine.”
A wrist ligament injury can take up to 10 weeks to heal so Shaw would be in the latter scenes of his recovery. The cast is just there as a care.
Of more further concern will be an injury which is not significantly visible.
The Times reported Shaw played the Euro 2020 knockout phases with broken ribs and these will also take time to recover.
Again, he was able to play on notwithstanding this and did really well, but United will not want to extend the injury.
There are under two weeks until the season starts and United are going to be reliant on Shaw at left-back. Hopefully, he can get as close to 100 per cent as possible.
