As a substitute for Cristiano Ronaldo,  Manchester United has been linked with a deal for PSG star Kylian Mbappe.

Ronaldo is likely to depart Old Trafford in the near future, according to explosive accusations made by Piers Morgan on TalkTV.

Ronaldo criticized the Glazers, United manager Erik ten Hag, and club legends Gary Neville and Wayne Rooney during an interview shot for the ‘Piers Uncensored’ show, according to The Sun.

Additionally, he was criticized for his perceived failure to upgrade club facilities, and he questioned the hiring of Ralf Rangnick as manager last season.

According to  ESPN, Ten Hag has already informed United’s leadership that Ronaldo should not play for the club again.

Prior to the interview, his future was already in grave doubt, as the two-year deal he signed in the summer of 2021 was about to expire.

However, the interview appears to hasten his exit, and United are already searching for a replacement.

United keen on Mbappe

The first name to surface from the never-ending Manchester United rumor mill is that of Mbappe, whose future at PSG is questionable.

The Daily Mirror asserts that the France international, who has been repeatedly linked to Liverpool in recent weeks, has emerged as a possibility, providing that the club can meet his exorbitant salary demands.

According to Forbes, Mbappe is the highest-paid footballer in 2022, earning a staggering $110 million after signing a mega-deal to remain with PSG in May.

United appears to be one of the limited few clubs that can afford such salary.

According to the Daily Express, United have also maintained their interest in Tottenham’s Harry Kane, who is a potential replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.

For now, both players will be at the World Cup in Qatar over the next month, where France will try to defend their title.

If they do, they will be only the third team in football history to win the tournament twice in a row, after Italy in 1934 and 1938 and Brazil in 1958 and 1962. Mbappe will be hoping to help them reach the top.
