Arsenal has been widely connected with a deal for Marcus Thuram, and it now appears that Manchester United are also interested in signing him to replace Cristiano Ronaldo.

The striker for Borussia Monchengladbach was a member of the French squad that lost the 2022 FIFA World Cup final in Qatar.

Thuram only played 146 minutes in the entire competition, although he assisted on two goals, including Kylian Mbappe’s second goal in the championship game.

Now that the World Cup is over, the attention is on his future, and according to a report, he is seen as Ronaldo’s replacement at Manchester United. Arsenal, however, is also interested in signing him.

According to the German publication BILD, as reported by talkSPORT in English, Manchester United are eager to recruit Thuram during the January transfer window.

The Red Devils are reportedly seeking a successor for Ronaldo, whose contract was terminated after his infamous chat with Piers Morgan prior to the World Cup.

Thuram, whom Arsenal sent scouts to observe last month (90 minutes), is apparently Erik Ten Hag’s top target at Old Trafford, and the Frenchman will be available for a reasonable price.

The forward will shortly reach the final six months of his Borussia Monchengladbach deal. The January transfer window is the German club’s final opportunity to earn a profit from his sale, and they’ve set a ridiculously low price tag.

According to the report, Thuram will be available in January for as little as £10 million. It’s hardly surprising that Arsenal, Manchester United, and a number of other clubs are interested in signing him at that price.
